  • 1.  Sub-certification for SOX CFO certification

    Posted 26 days ago

For those working in a US public company environment – under Sarbanes-Oxley the CEO and CFO have to file a certification addressing the disclosures in the 10-K and 10-Q, and related matters (e.g. internal controls). Many companies have the applicable professionals in the company sign a "sub-certification" to provide assurance to the CFO that the company is in compliance. Some companies use software and/or an outsourced service to administer the sub-certifications (and sometimes other related SOX processes). Does anyone here have experience with such vendors that they can recommend?

We used Workiva in the past and now use Audit Board (as we were already using it for our SOX compliance). Audit Board is more user friendly in my opinion

Sadly, in one company I was with, we used a tool called Microsoft Word to sign the sub-certification, and the consolidation team used a tool called Excel to keep track of the submissions.....
