Yes, full-time internships can count as valid work experience for CMA certification, 

For an internship to count, it must:

• Be full-time or the equivalent in part-time hours (i.e., accumulated over time).
• Involve tasks related to accounting, financial management, budgeting, auditing, internal controls, or financial analysis.
• Be in a professional environment, with verifiable responsibilities.

Internships that are more administrative or clerical in nature would not typically qualify. You may need to provide detailed information about the work performed during the internship when submitting it for approval by the IMA.

It is clearly mentioned in IMA handbook that internship does not count as valid work experience
