    Hi everyone!

Sharing my experience on my 1st attempt for CMA Part 1.

I took the exams yesterday, February 16. I finished 100 questions in the MCQs, although I'm not confident with my answers πŸ₯² thankfully, I got into the second section for the essays.

For the essay, I was asked about calculation of variances, benchmarking, internal and failure costs, debt securities, difference on IFRS and US GAAP, audit committee, and etc. So basically you can get asked about anything! Make sure to go through all the topics and understand the concepts.

For MCQs, make sure to answer all the questions. If you don't have the answer, pick a guess and flag the question so you can come back to it when you still have time. Don't leave anything unanswered, at least you will have 25% chance of getting that correct. Majority of my questions came from costing, variances, internal controls and governance. Also got a couple of questions on Transfer Pricing, which was a shock to me as I was not fully prepared on that topic.

I prepared with Gleim and Hock, which was very detailed and useful. Practice questions from Hock and Gleim would greatly prepare you for the exams.

If you have any questions, just ask away here and I can reply to you. ☺️

Hi. Is it ethical for you to disclose this information? Especially since we are still in this window...

He doesn't seem to disclose any questions though.

It says only about the topics and the number of questions per section on an average basis.

The topics mentioned forms the entire course/syllabus and not particularly calling out for any specific ones.

Moreover, the examination doesn't have direct questions like any school or university exams. The questions are either twisted or case study based.

Hi Alokta. Your point is duly noted. However, in terms of specifics, I dare to differ. Specific topics were stated for MCQ and specific topics were stated for essay. On a normal basis, noone knows which topics shall be on which section.  Hence, my previous question.

He has mentioned all major topics so, you need tk prepare everything only in a way. Don't worry, I gave my exam yesterday and the topics mentioned are not the only ones asked.

Also, for major sections, he has just mentioned the number of questions. I suggest to go through it completely and properly before questioning anyone's integrity. Moreover, we should not forget he was just trying to share his experience. His experience helped me a lot to understand something about the examination where nothing or noone is available to tell or hear something. I take this as a good gesture. No need to go negative in everything. If you have a negative thinking, keep it with you, others don't need it.
