  • 1.  CMA Exam Part 2 - Formulas

    Posted 02-26-2024 02:00 PM

I'm about to take Part 2 of the exam and am overwhelmed by the amount of formulas in this part. I could not possibly memorize them all. Any tips or tricks from anyone that has already taken Part 2? It would be very much appreciated.

Hi, Andrea! I recently took Part 2 of the exam a few days ago. In terms of formulas, my biggest tip for you is to focus on understanding the concept behind the formula rather than stressing too much over memorizing it. Once you understand the concept behind it, you'll be able to work your way around the numbers! As for my exam experience, I don't think a lot of the questions there really required specific formula application especially for questions around topics such as NPVs, decision analysis, IRRs, etc. Anyways, those are just from personal experience which may vary from person to person. Best of luck!

Hi. My advice to you is that the exam is about application and thus, once you understand how to do them, you won't need to memorize.
Go into the exam with confidence, whatever you have studied, it shall come back to you.
Focus on both theory as well as practical concepts,  because the exam consists of both.
