    Hello -
    I'm helping a nonprofit develop a set of Internal Controls (ICs).  Instead of starting from a "blank sheet" does anybody have a set that you'd be willing to share?  (Absolutely will keep confidential.)  Or, at least point me in the right direction to practical resources that will help us develop an effective set of ICs?  (Note:  I've searched the IMA communities as well as the internet but to no avail.)

    The Washington State Auditor's Office has a reasonable library of internal controls and related performance material on their website. 


    While these were written for governments, the concepts are broad enough I think you would find them applicable. In particular, I recommend you review the internal control checklist (type "Internal Controls Checklist for Local Governments" in the search box or click below.
