time management

I took the Part 1 exam in October 3rd week. Just 2 days ago I received the good news that I pass the exam. While I am thankful for the result, I regret wasting 6 weeks of just waiting and agonizing myself what if I don't pass the exam. I didn't have the motivation to study back then because I need to know if I will re-take part 1 or move to part 2. Long story short, I am out of time. Cause the testing window I bought for Part 2 is Jan-Feb intake, thinking end of Feb is just perfect timing for me to prepare. Now, the dilemma I am facing is that the testing center here in Singapore is only available Feb 6. So meaning, I lost 3 weeks to prepare. Rescheduling for April testing window will not work for me, I need to take advantage of my motivation now. I will lose interest if I wait that long.

I am a mother of 1 yr old and 10 yr old. I am working in a pharma company and luckily our budget review is finished last week (or else I wont be able to study at all). So now I purge all my annual leave for January 2021 and God help me, I'm still at section A :-)

I'm left with 50 days to study, Merry busy Christmas to me haha! My big day is Feb 6. On the bright side, this is a good motivation to focus focus focus and practice practice practice. Waste no time, every minute counts! Good luck my fellow CMAers. Let's do this!

Sorry that the testing center in Singapore is only available on Feb 6; what explains that?

I am also sitting for Part 2, but on February 26; I see the time already too short after getting Part 1 result only on Wednesday; but yours is even shorter. I plan to spend more time in practice than reading the materials.

Try to find the best technic with this very limited time; all the best!

I am not so sure why they only have Feb 6 available in Singapore. I am still aiming for the Feb 6th exam because I think I can allocate more time during the festive season (Christmas and Chinese New Year). Good luck to us!

Thanks for your encouragement. Just the process of getting certified is already rewarding for me. Aside from the intellectual factors, this program also teaches me discipline and determination. Good luck to all and congratulations that we made it this far.

    Hi Kristine,

Due to Covid, IMA has been extending the current testing windows. March is open for the Jan-Feb testing window and there is availability, so you can shift the exam. I just passed my part 2 exam and I gave it in Nov for Oct testing window amd got the result last week.

I can say that this part also requires extensive study and practice and I used Hock and help of an amazing professor in Abu Dhabi.

You can reschedule for march for free and always call prometric for help they are very helpful especially during COVID.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Prateek

Is Jan-Feb window getting extended to March?

I booked my exam yesterday; there was no slot available in March. Only May-June window was expanded to April as communicated by IMA.

Thanks for the tip. I will try my best to still aim for the Feb 6th exam and will decide 2 weeks before if I am ready or not. I have a very demanding job and baby so the sooner the better for me. But let's see, I am still in section A so I don't know how difficult other sections are.
