Hello Angela,
Hope you are safe & doing well
I believe that we are gathered here in this group to share our knowledge & experience, help, support & encourage each other in order to accomplish one goal .. Passing the CMA exam and getting proudly certified.
When I attended my first attempt on last February, I was blinded of many things related to CMA preparation and exam taking, So I posted this article to guide other members of what mistakes I have done.
Very important "live" exam tipsAm using Wiley's Platinum package, but still I am getting additional support from other educational websites in order to nail the tough concepts which have been "Shortly" presented by Wiley. we should understand why "Non" of CMA course providers is able to cover all our needs, because it will take hundreds of video lectures and thousands of text materials.
Spending a lot of hours to find and apply a proper techniques, I do repeat my previous advises:
- IMA Learning Outcome Statements and Exam Support Package are the (2) corner stones of CMA exam.
- Practice, practice and practice "Hundreds" of MCQs, presented by Wiley and outsourced ones.
- Practice full Mock exam multiple times (>10) in order to manage time & pressure efficiently.
- Master Time Management for each conceptual and computational MCQ. (Maximum average: 45 & 120 seconds respectively)
- Successful MCQs targeted score 90%
Watching video lectures and reading text materials will definitely help to understand the concept, but still we need to practice tens of MCQs and fasten our answering speed in order to nail that concept, and being prepared for any future exam scenarios on time.
When practicing MCQs, it is very important to use the
isolation and
soft skill techniques in order to focus only on the information required to find the solution as fast as possible.
This summary information is not driven from my experience only, it is also gathered from many professional CMAs live stories.
Hope it will encourage you to keep on track, be motivated and never give up.
Wish you best of luck, success, safe and healthy condition
Kind regards

Hi Angela,
I highly recommend BCertified Pro! I just finished their live course for part I over a month ago and I took my test few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure I passed. I also have Wiley study materials but they don't explain things like Gaby from BCertified Pro. He explains it all so well!
I'm also about to start a live course next week for part II.

Dear Angela,
While Wiley has excellent videos, Certain concepts require additional learning material which is where Wiley falls short.
I was going through Wiley's trail videos and found the content amazing except when it came to statistics, I really wanted to deep dive into it to get it once and for all. below are some of the websites which helped me a lot when it came to understanding core accounting concepts and statistics.

3. Others which i cant remember at the moment.
Hope this helps ! you dont need to spend more to get a deeper understanding of core concepts. there are plenty of resources online which require practice and practice. if you wish to test yourself go for the Gleim test bank.

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has taken any online classes to help them prepare for the CMA exam that they could recommend? I am studying with Wiley, but I am interested in signing up for online classes as well to help me prepare better. I've seen online classes offered by BCertified Pro, in the list of providers for the CMA on the IMA's website and these look like they may be good, but I have also seen the CMA Academy classes and those look like they may be good as well. I am just wondering if anyone has had any experience with good classes they have taken that they can share?
Thanks!
