  • 1.  CMA Part 2 - current testing window

    Posted 01-18-2021 09:56 AM
    Hello -

Wondering if anyone on here, in the United States, has taken CMA part 2 during this current testing window?

I was scheduled to take it on JAN02 but was unable to do so.  There was a malfunction at my prometric testing center and they were unable to download the exam.  To say it was disappointing is an understatement.   I rescheduled for this Saturday.  But am a little concerned about a repeat of the issue.  Wondering if anyone has taken CMA part 2 yet in 2021?

    Hi @John Busch,

Sorry to hear that you weren't able to take the exam due to some technical difficulties at the prometric testing center. At least, you were able to reschedule for the exam! I'm scheduled to take Part 2 on 2/16, but I have heard people's exams getting canceled due to COVID-19 so hopefully, that won't happen to me.

    Hi John,

I took part 2 last week (1/16) without any issue. I think it was your pro-metric center only. I am in Houston TX.
Good luck to you on your reschedule one.

    regards,

Hi, what review system did you use to prepare for part 2 and do you think it prepared. I am currently studying for part 2 and I plan on taking the exam in Feburary but I am a little nervous because I have heard rumors that gleim isnt that useful when preparing you for part two of the exam

I used Wiley for both part 1 and 2. For part2, in my view, it covers most of the topics and content of the exam. However, the NPV, IRR part, Wiley only uses a specific calculator which is discontinued. The video, the test bank and text book focus on calculator usage. Most of test bank answers show how to have the result via that calculator. I was struggling with this section when i prepared because i prefer to use time value table and simple calculator.

    Dear Anh,

I am using Wiley and am in the same dilemma. I am using Casio DJ 120D model and I understood the trick to find present value of all future cash flows that doesn't require financial calculator through a YouTube video.

However, couldn't find anything on IRR.. Do kindly let me know if you find something on this.

    hi Abdul,
For IRR, I just use the formula "IRR factor = total investment/investment per year" then use the time value table to look for the %.
I didn't have any IRR question in my exam. ;)

    Hi Anh,

You mentioned that Wiley covered most of the topics, but did you feel like Wiley MCQs were sufficient enough in preparing for Part 2? The reason why I'm asking is that I feel like some of the Wiley Part 2 MCQs are way too straightforward as opposed to the Wiley Part 1 MCQs.

    Hi Daniel,

In ima account, there is a CMA Exam support Package. You can find it under My order\digital content access. I found it helpful for the preparation.
