  • 1.  Test appointment cancelled but no next action informed

    Hi fellows,

    Hope this finds you well!

Prometric team emailed me that my test appointment scheduled on 5/30/20 was cancelled due to COVID-19 on 5/13/20. But they never told me what would be the next step to reschedule regarding when and how.

Just want to check if any of you are having the same issue or you may know what to be expected in my situation.

    Thanks for your time.

I am having the same issue.  Mine was scheduled for June 17th and when I try to reschedule within the Prometric site, it won't even pull up my confirmed appointment.  I tried a different route to reschedule directly from the ICMA website (still thru Prometric) and it pulled it up, but found no appointments available within the next three months.  I sent in a request to contact to Prometric and have not heard anything back.

    Hello everyone...

I have had the same issues. I am sure a lot of people are having these issues. I cannot get in touch with anyone at Prometric, I cannot reschedule my test online, and I have reached out to IMA. The individual I have talked to is also having a difficult time getting anything resolved either. Prometric has handled this so poorly and I also haven't seen any communication addressing these issues by the IMA. So instead of putting something out there to acknowledge the situation, we are just going to say nothing and let everyone who doesn't have a contract with Prometric try and navigate this on their own. This whole issue has been poorly managed and both parties should be ashamed for the way this has been handled.

Hi Everyone. In April I had yet to schedule my testing date for May when they decided to cancel all testing for May. My area isn't as busy as most, so when I went in to schedule for June or July I was surprised to find the earliest appointment was for August, and I think those are gone now. It was like that in a 3 state area. I went on the Prometric site every morning and evening until an appointment at the end of June all of a sudden came open so I took it. I don't know what's going on with the appointments. Are they really that busy and booked? So far my June appointment has not been cancelled and is still confirmed. All I can say for those trying to set up a new appointment or reschedule, just keep checking and checking.

    Hello everyone,
I had the same problem as well as so many others.  I tried emailing prometric and they were not very helpful.  So I emailed IMA and they were so helpful.
Here are the steps you need to take:
Email IMA@... or call 1-800-638-4427 and tell them you got emails from prometric cancelling your test.
Your test is not actually cancelled in the system so IMA will tell you to cancel the test and then send them an email with the cancellation confirmation asking for a new authorization number for the next three month window.
My new CMA Part I is scheduled for September and Part II for January.

    I hope this helps.

Agree with this! I was emailed that my exam was cancelled, but I could still see it in Prometric's system. I had to go in and cancel it (which took forever, I would click "Reschedule/Cancel My Exam" and it would just spin for ages and often times not take me anywhere. I recommend doing it at odd hours, that seemed to help).  Once cancelled I sent my confirmation to the IMA via email, and they refunded me so I could reschedule in another window. The IMA was very responsive and had initiated the refund within 24 hours of my email.

For background... I was scheduled to take Part 1 on June 29th, and once Prometric cancelled me (over a month ago) I kept checking the June / July window to see if I could reschedule or if another seat opened up.  There was no opening in my state at any test center for June or July.... that was when I caved and just cancelled and requested a refund. :(

    Good luck everyone!

    Hi everyone,

I was able to take my test last Sunday, but I also had to check several times for any openings, because when I checked on the first day they opened everything was booked for the next three months. What was weird is, that I thought they would be super busy, but when I got to my Prometric center there were only three other people testing with me.
