Many
of you might be wondering how to disable the inbuilt apps in your
Android device. I have seen this question being posted in many
forums. Many users may think that disabling apps on your android
phone is totally impossible. However, this is not true. This is one
of the common myths or misconceptions about the android apps.
Many
of the apps are unnecessary and they consume a lot of space thus
making it impossible for you to store more stuffs. Especially if your
device doesn’t have an expandable storage support then you might be
worrying about these unwanted android apps and you may want to put it to
sleep or to be precise disable them.
Previously
it was available for users who have had their phone rooted. However,
currently all the android smartphone users can have this option.
Thanks to the Application Manager in Android Mobile Applications Development. Now all users can disable
the in-built yet unused apps.
You
must be clear that disabling is in no way related to deleting or
uninstalling the app. It just immobilizes the app and puts it in a
temporary coma saving you certain resources. These are the steps you
need to follow to disable apps for your android.
-
Open
Settings.
-
Tap
on Application Manager.
-
Click
on AT&T code scanner (in case you are an AT&T user or other
similar tab for Verizon and other users).
-
You
will be listed with a list of apps.
-
Click
on the app you want to disable.
-
App
Info will appear.
-
Click
on “Turn Off” for Galaxy devices and “Disable” for Nexus
devices to stop or disable the app.
-
There
will be a series of questions that might be asked. Just click on O.K
option if you are okay with the constraints that are displayed.
-
Finally,
you will get a warning about “delete all data and turn off app”
pop up. You need to click O.K again.
This
will disable the app and whenever you change your mind to enable it
back you may go to the application manger and follow the same steps
again and finally click “Turn On” or “Enable”
